Our Mission Statement

The R.A.N.G.E. Task Force was founded on the belief drug trafficking organizations have no political boundaries; therefore, partnerships with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies were formed to protect and serve the citizens of Montgomery County and the surrounding areas. The primary focus of R.A.N.G.E. Task Force is to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations and other criminal enterprises operating in and around the Miami Valley. The R.A.N.G.E. Task Force recognizes it is crucial to continue educating the community on drug prevention efforts while making the concerns of the public a priority.

Welcome to the RANGE Task Force

Thank you for visiting the Regional Agencies Narcotics and Gun Enforcement website. Because of the majority of crimes in our community related to drug addiction or drug trafficking, the R.A.N.G.E. Task Force recognizes that collaboration with federal, state and local partnerships is necessary to have a significant impact on the criminal organization in Montgomery County and the Miami Valley.

The task force understands that we will not arrest our way out of the wide-range of drug addiction problems plaguing our communities. We are forming alliances with prevention and education groups that give us the tools to better understand and approach the drug problem on many levels. At R.A.N.G.E., we believe that educating our youth on the negative effects of substance abuse and providing parents with information to quickly recognize signs of abuse is as important as enforcing the law.

Thank you for your continued support with confidential tips to our hotline and your involvement in your community on the fight to keep our neighborhoods a safe place.

Drugs

For years, illicit (street) drugs have been glamorized to teens and young adults through TV, movies, radio, books and magazines and the Internet. Unfortunately, there can be a very high price to pay as we see the devastating effects and statistics on hundreds of drug overdoses each year and long term prison sentences handed down for drug trafficking.

Some think, “Just this one-time is okay,” but in reality it may be the first of a twenty year addiction or your last time you ever see your family & friends. Things you may not have thought of:

  • You can’t predict the effect that a drug can have on you-especially if it’s the first time you try it, and even if it’s a small amount or dose.
  • Everyone’s brain and body chemistry are different.
  • Everyone’s tolerance for drugs is different.
  • Using drugs can lead to abuse, addiction, serious health problems including death.
  • Drugs that are legal-prescription and over-the counter (OTC) medications-can be just as dangerous as illegal drugs.

The Montgomery County R.A.N.G.E. Task Force is committed to using any and all resources to combat illicit drugs from entering our communities.
